Quit Smoking Naturally With Hypnosis

What Happens When You Stop Smoking?

When you first consider giving up cigarettes, you’ll probably want to know what happens when you stop smoking. It’s normal to feel apprehensive and even afraid that all sorts of strange things are going to happen to you when you quit. You must realise that if you have been smoking for any length of time, it’s going to take your body a while to get used to not having its regular dose of nicotine. However, you will be amazed at how quickly you will be able to kick the habit if you prepare yourself and know what is going to happen when you stop smoking.

The first thing you will notice is that you will be thinking about smoking a cigarette at every turn. No matter what you are doing you will crave a cigarette. What happens when you stop smoking is that your body starts to go into withdrawal and the symptoms can vary from mild to severe. If you are prepared for what to expect then it makes the process easier.

So how do you avoid or combat your cravings for cigarettes? Firstly you need to recognise the normal feelings of hunger and thirst for what they are. They are reasons to light up. What happens when your stop smoking is that you will feel that every time you are hungry or thirsty you need to reach for a cigarette. Instead, reach for a light snack or a glass of water or any other non-alcoholic beverage. Don’t try to quit smoking while still drinking copious amounts of win or beer or spirits. These are occasions when you will reach for a cigarette and not have the self control to stop.

Remember that smoking is an addiction and you will always have the urge to light up. Your decision as to what happens when you decide to stop smoking is what will determine your success or failure. Your feelings of anger,  tiredness and hunger will pass soon enough, sometimes in as little as 5 days.

Take each day as it comes and in the beginning, just getting from one hour to the next will be a big challenge. It helps to remember why you decided to stop smoking in the first place and know that what happens when you stop smoking is good for you and those around you.

The choice is yours.
